Meet Maple, a lovely female cat with a heart full of warmth for her people. Maple understands the beauty of companionship.
Maple is the queen of cheek scratches - her favorite indulgence. Once you've won her trust, she'll reward you with a symphony of purrs. She can be quite a talker when she wants attention, so you'll be left in no doubt when she's ready for a snuggle! Maple may prefer being the only cat in the home as she does seem to get upset by other cats coming near. She has lived with children before and could again if they are respectful of her.
If you're ready to open your heart to a sweet feline companion who craves affection and understands the art of friendship, Maple is your girl. Make your home her forever kingdom, and watch as her gentle presence transforms it into a haven of love and contentment. Adopt Maple today!

*EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER*
Meet Lefty! Lefty's story didn't have the happiest of starts but we are looking to find him his happily ever after ending. He came to us extremely under socialized and lacking many life skills a dog of his age should have. That doesn't stop him from being the sweetest boy once he warms up. While in care Lefty has received lots of love and TLC to make him into the boy is today. It is still a work in progress but with the love and patience of his new guardians he will continue to grow to his full potential.
Lefty is looking for an EXPERIENCED home, being an under socialized herding breed will require proper training and knowledge of the breeds. But the love you will receive in return is worth it. Lefty loves to snuggle up, get belly rubs, and chase his squeaky toys outside in the field. He loves to get the zoomies and has shown signs of wanting to herd things. He has been working on his leash manners and learning some basic commands. He will need an active home that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated.
We are unsure how Lefty would be with cats, livestock, or small animals. He has shown signs of wanting to chase and herd things so would recommend a home without. While in care we have been working with him meeting and making new K9 friends. He will require slow and proper introductions to continue to learn to make friends. He will need a home with NO small children.
If you think Lefty could be a good fit for you please contact the kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.

Meet Dolly - a sweet, laid-back lady who is looking for a loving, low stress home where she can finally relax and enjoy the rest of her life. She may be reserved at first, but she melts into cheek scratches from those she trusts at any opportunity. Dolly was brought in as a stray to the Kamloops SPCA, so we don't know much about her history, but it was clear she had been living outside for quite some time. After receiving some TLC, she's now looking to strike out on her own and find a quiet home to spend her retirement.
Dolly loves to curl up on the softest blanket she can find. She would love to sit back and watch the world go by through the safety of a big window or catio area. We are not sure how she would do in a home with other animals, but she may be able to get used to cat-savvy children who respect her boundaries.
This sweet senior is currently awaiting a dental surgery and is not quite ready to be adopted yet, however, Foster-To-Adopt could be an option for local adopters.
Could you be Dolly's dream come true and give this sweet, shy lady the love of a purr-ever dream home?
If you feel you can offer Dolly the home she has been waiting her whole life for, please fill out an adoption application in person or submit it online today: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/

Meet Gamora, a feisty warrior princess looking for her own loyal subjects to worship and adore her.
This gorgeous, tabby lady with the crooked smile is looking for a very special, cat savvy home that will love her and be patient with her while working with her personality quirks. Gamora came to the SPCA as a stray found in a rural area. It's possible before coming to the SPCA she'd never been touched by people before as she was terrified of human hands coming towards her. She has spent the last several months in a foster home learning what it is like to be a spoiled house cat and she's loving it. She is an extremely playful and curious young cat who can be loving and a purr machine once she's comfortable. She can still be skittish and nervous if approached too fast. She will follow her people around watching them and chirping her little meows but always keeping a few feet away until she learns to trust. As she starts to trust the gap between her and her people will narrow and soon you may wake up with her purring on your chest. She does now love being petted but is still very uncomfortable with being picked up or restrained in any way. Love, lots of time, and a gentle hand will certainly help this girl come out of her shell but adopters will need to be prepared to continue working with her .
One thing Gamora absolutely needs in her new home is at least 1 other cat. When she sees another cat, Gamora will drop many of her defences to be near the other cat and her feline housemate in turn can show her that her new people can be trusted. Gamora would enjoy a feline friend who is very friendly and will let her curl up with them for cuddles, plus one who is playful and will run around with her. In her foster home Gamora has also been exposed to a dog and may be fine with a calm canine with slow introductions. If the dog is too rambunctious or in her face, she may get swatty. Because of her skittishness and her boundaries Gamora needs a quiet adult home with no young children at all. Though maybe not the cuddliest cat, Gamora can still make a wonderful companion who will bring lots of joy into her home. She'll certainly entertain as she zooms around the house playing with her toys, tossing them about with enthusiasm.
Could you be that special someone to give Gamora the life she deserves? If so please fill out an adoption application in person or submit it online today at https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/

*EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER*
Say hello to Ray-Ray! While his story didn't have the happiest of starts, we are looking to find him his happily ever after. He came to us extremely under socialized and lacking many life skills a dog of his age should have. That doesn't stop him from being a playful goofy boy once he warms up. While in care Ray-Ray has received lots of love and TLC to make him into the boy is today. It is still a work in progress but with the love and patience of his new guardians he will continue to grow to his full potential.
Ray-Ray is looking for an EXPERIENCED home, being an under socialized herding breed will require proper training and knowledge of the breeds. But the love you will receive in return is worth it. He has been working on his leash manners and learning some basic commands. He will need an active home that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. He would probably thrive at dog sports such as agility.
Due to Ray-Ray's prey drive we are unsure how he would be with cats, livestock, or small animals. While in care we have been working with him meeting other K9 friends, but he can be nervous so will require proper introductions to any future K9 companions. He will need a home with NO small children.
We recommend any potential adopters do research on the breed prior to applying.
If you think Ray-Ray could be a good fit for you please contact the Kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.

Meet Lilly! This sweet little lady is looking for her second chance at a forever home! Lilly came to us from a tough situation along with many of her other K9 family members. This girl is looking for an active family to keep up with her energy. Lilly had a tougher start to life but she doesn't let that slow her down she is happy and eager to meet new people! She has won over the hearts of so many staff and volunteers with her goofy smile and endless love. Staff are greeted every morning by her intense wiggles and tail wags!
While in care we have been working on some basic manners, and leash skills. Lilly does have a prey drive and is not well suited to a home with cats, small animals, or livestock. She has also been working on making new K9 friends! She can be selective with certain females but has shown to like neutered male friends! While in care we have been working on some basic manners, and leash skills. Lilly does have a prey drive and is not well suited to a home with cats, small animals, or livestock. She has also been working on making new K9 friends! She can be selective with certain females but has shown to like neutered male friends! Lilly is looking for a guardian with knowledge on the breed so they are aware of how to keep her mentally and physically stimulated. If you think Lilly could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below or contact the Kamloops SPCA.

Cheerio is a handsome, friendly, and social rabbit who loves attention and will make a great addition to any family. He loves to show off his unique colouring by stretching out during his naps. He also enjoys playing with toys, digging, and of course, munching on fresh veggies! He is very good with being handled and petted, but he is still slightly nervous of being picked up. He is a very curious guy and will be right at your side to see what you're up to.
Cheerio enjoys all sorts of toys and really loves hopping through his tunnels in his enclosure. He has a friendly disposition and may be able to live with other animals with proper, slow introductions. A home with kids who are aware of proper handling would be fine. He likes to have attention as much as possible and will enjoy having people around who can spoil him because he deserves it. Cheerio is an extremely tidy guy and he loves impressing everyone with his impeccable litter box use. He is also used to being a indoor bunny.
If Cheerio sounds like the guy for you, please fill out an application through the link below and provide photos of your intended set up to [email protected].

Meet Hazel! This adorable fluffy girl came to the SPCA with her siblings, and now they are all looking for their fur-ever homes. These young bunnies are a mix of Angora, Lionhead, and Dwarf so adopters will need to be prepared for the grooming their long coats will require. They were hand raised in their previous home making them fairly curious and outgoing around people, however adopters will need to be prepared to continue working on getting them comfortable with lots of handling and brushing as they may still be a bit shy.
Hazel is a pretty little bunny looking to be spoiled by a rabbit lover. These babies all have a fairly friendly disposition and may be able to live with rabbit savvy kids and other animals with proper, slow introductions and socialization to handling. They will make great additions to any family and may be good with kids who are aware of proper rabbit husbandry. Adopters must show knowledge of the special diet, housing, and care required for rabbits.
Hazel and her siblings aren't quite ready to be adopted yet, as they are waiting for their Spay and Neuter procedures, however Foster-With-Intent may be an option for adopters while they await their appointments. Ask staff for more information.

Rosie is a sweet, shy lady who is looking for a loving, low stress home where she can finally relax and enjoy the rest of her life. She can be very loving and chatty, though does have her boundaries and may get a little sassy if you don't respect them, but overall she loves attention. Rosie is a little on the plump side and would benefit from a proper diet to help her get her girlish figure back and keep her fit and healthy going into her senior years.
In her previous home Rosie lived with other cats which caused her a lot of stress and she reacted by having accidents outside of the litter box. Rosie has been diagnosed with Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease and to help manage this condition she is on a good quality urinary and stress cat food. A proper diet plus living in a low stress, quiet home without kids or other animals will hopefully help manage Rosie's condition and prevent inappropriate elimination in the future. Adopters should be prepared to keep up with regular vet exams as a cat ages to monitor health.
Could you be Rosie's dream come true and give this sweet, shy lady the love of a purr-ever dream home?
If you feel you can offer Rosie the home she has been waiting her whole life for, please fill out an adoption application in person or submit it online today: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/

Calling all Doberman lovers! Are you looking for a sweet, silly, goofy, and absolutely adorable addition to your family? Are you up for non-stop high energy adventures? Suki is looking for her chance at finding the perfect forever home! Suki came to us as a stray with a severe injury in her neck and mouth causing a large abscess that needed vet care. What caused it we'll never know but she is finally all healed and raring to start her new life.
Being a stray we do not have a lot of information on Suki's past but since being in care she has begun to show her truly silly big puppy personality. Initially she was fairly nervous of strangers but she now exuberantly greets almost everyone. This sweet girl is looking for an experienced dog guardian who can help continue her obedience training and work on her tendency to jump up, pull on leash, and excitability. She will need a patient guardian as she does have fairly severe separation anxiety that we have been working on with her and a guardian will need to be prepared for this. She just hates to be alone and wants to be with her people as much as possible. Due to her tendency to bark she likely isn't appropriate for an apartment. She would thrive in a house with another playful pup as she LOVES to play and wrestle non-stop. She has been in foster with cats (though she sometimes likes to play chase and try the cats patience) and has been making lots of K9 friends while in care. She is extremely high energy and quite bouncy so a home without small children would be best as she could possibly knock them over. She needs an active guardian who can put her energy to work. She is prone to jumping up and mouthing when she's excited. She can be a little nervous of strangers to start and might bark but she warms up very quickly and then just wants to share lots and lots of kisses. Once she finally gets tired out Suki loves to curl up on the couch or in bed with her person (occasionally snoring and a bit of a bed hog).
Suki will certainly keep you on your toes and make life interesting. If you think you could be the right fit for Suki please contact the Kamloops SPCA with further questions or fill out an application below.

*EXPERIENCED DOG OWNER*
Say hello to Lars! While his story didn't have the happiest of starts, we are looking to find him his happily ever after. He came to us extremely under socialized and lacking many life skills a dog of his age should have. That doesn't stop him from being a playful goofy boy once he warms up. While in care Lars has received lots of love and TLC to make him into the boy is today. It is still a work in progress but with the love and patience of his new guardians he will continue to grow to his full potential.
Lars is looking for an EXPERIENCED home, being an under socialized herding breed will require proper training and knowledge of the breeds. But the love you will receive in return is worth it. He has been working on his leash manners and learning some basic commands. He will need an active home that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. He would probably thrive at dog sports such as agility.
Due to Lars' prey drive we are unsure how Lars would be with cats, livestock, or small animals. While in care we have been working with him meeting other K9 friends, but he can be nervous so will require proper introductions to any future K9 companions. He will need a home with NO small children.
We recommend any potential adopters do research on the breed prior to applying.
If you think Lars could be a good fit for you please contact the kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.

Meet Sierra! This gorgeous little baby beauty came to the SPCA with her siblings, and now they are all looking for their fur-ever homes! This adorable litter of bunnies were bottle fed when they were younger, making them extremely comfortable with handling and loving around people. They are a Dwarf, Lionhead, and Angora mix so will need adopters prepared to manage their long coats with regular grooming.
Sierra is extremely curious and will stop at nothing to explore every inch of her environment. She is a very inquisitive rabbit, she's always keen to approach people and see what is going on. She's a very social bunny, both with humans and her siblings though may be a little bit shy at first until she gets to know you. These babies all have a friendly disposition and may be able to live with other animals that have bunny experience with proper introductions. A rabbit savvy home with kids who are aware of proper handling would be fine. Sierra likes to have attention as much as possible and will enjoy having people around who can spoil her because she deserves it.
Sierra and her siblings aren't quite ready to be adopted yet, as they are waiting for their Spay and Neuter procedures, however Foster-With-Intent may be an option for adopters while they await their appointments. Ask staff for more information.
If this bunny sounds like the gal for you, please fill out an application through the link below and provide photos of your intended set up to [email protected].
