Norman is a handsome and very friendly gentleman who was surrendered to the SPCA needing veterinary care. Norman had very painful bad teeth but he has now received his dental surgery and all the bad teeth are gone so he is feeling so much better. This happy guy loves people and attention and will make a loving companion. He's pretty relaxed and chill and may possibly be able to live with cat savvy kids or other animals with proper, slow introductions. As Norman heads towards his senior years it is important his guardian keep up with annual vet check ups to help keep him healthy and happy, as with any animal. Norman can't wait to find his fur-ever family, could it be you?An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. If you think this animal is a match for you please fill out an adoption application and submit it online today: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/ or visit the animal centre during our viewing hours of 1pm-4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting first potential matching adopters to further review their application. Malik is a big friendly guy looking for his forever home! When Malik came to us he had some pretty bad matting due to his long unkempt hair and being left outside. Since then he has been shaved and is now much happier and more comfortable. This unique looking guy will need lots of brushing to keep up on his beautiful coat once it grows back in so adopters should be prepared for this. Keeping Malik inside will also help his coat stay cleaner. Malik is a social and outgoing guy who loves attention. We're not sure if he's lived with kids or other animals before so proper, slow introductions are important. He seems like he'd be a great addition to most homes and will certainly add some class and elegance with his gorgeous coat and noble bearing. Little Tess came into the BC SPCA looking for her chance at a fur-ever home. This special kitten is very sweet and friendly and has a lot of love to share. Tess was born with a deformity of the back left leg which makes her look and move a little differently than your average kitten. She has only one toe on the foot and the bones are slightly deformed on the leg. She has been assessed by a vet and she doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort but as she grows the leg should be monitored and adopters need to be prepared for any potential vet costs. This sweetheart is very playful and cuddly and will make a wonderful companion. She could probably live with cat savvy kids and other animals with proper introductions as long as they are gentle with her. Adopting a kitten is a lifetime commitment for a lifetime of love and care. Is tiny Tess the tabby for you?An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Sweet senior, Angel, is looking for her own personal miracle. This 16 yr old cat has sadly been bounced around to a few homes in her senior years, through no fault of her own, and she just really wants to find that special someone to spoil her and share her love with in her golden years. She has so much love to give!Angel is a friendly and loving cat whose favourite thing is to lay in front of the fireplace for a nice nap while she gets nice and toasty. She also enjoys watching TV for cats When Angel came back into the care of the BC SPCA last autumn she was suffering from severe obesity, having doubled in size over two years through bad diet and overfeeding. Her mobility was very poor, she was so overweight she could only waddle around for short periods of time. She has spent the last several months in a loving foster home working to get to a healthier weight. Through proper diet and care she has lost several pounds already and is a much happier kitty. An adopter will need to be prepared to keep her on a strict diet plan to help her continue her weight loss plan and be as happy and healthy as possible. She has recently received a dental surgery and has recovered from that. She also was diagnosed with fairly severe arthritis in her back end likely caused by her obesity and she is now on daily pain management to keep her comfortable and an adopter will need to continue this medication or look at alternatives with their vet. Being a senior it is very important to keep up with regular vet check ups. An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.Do you think Angel is the purr-fect match for your home? Could you be the one to spoil this sweet senior? Find out if Angel is your match! Submit an online application https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their interest. Smoldering Smokey is a gorgeous, friendly feline just entering into her senior years who sadly came to the SPCA when her previous owner passed away. She is now looking for her chance at a fur-ever home to spend her years and share her boundless love with. Smokey is a very outgoing and affectionate cat who loves attention. She loves to chat, interact with people, and is a passionate face rubber. She did live with another cat previously so there might be the possibility of her having a feline friend with proper, slow introductions as long as they are calm and give her her space when needed. Smokey loves to be petted and get attention but also is very happy to curl up in a cozy spot for a cat nap or snuggle on the couch next to you. She's not much of a lap cat but loves being with her person and will gently tap on you to let you know she wants more pets. She is very smart and has easily figured out some food puzzle toys. She loves to play with her wand toy and also is very agile and can be found napping up in unique places. When Smokey came into care she was found to be suffering from a very severe urinary tract infection (UTI) which was likely left untreated for a long time leaving her in a lot of pain. The UTI was successfully treated but an adopter will need to be prepared to keep Smokey on a good quality urinary diet to help keep her healthy and prevent a bladder issue in the future. Regular vet check ups are important for any animal but especially seniors to help them have a long, happy, and healthy life For more information regarding Smokey's current medical care please see staff. Don't let Clare's age fool you! This 6 year old girl is your typical goofy boxer. She has such a bubbly personality you can't not love her! Clare loves to go out for walks and adventures but when shes not busy playing she loves to snuggle up with her people. Clare is looking for a patient guardian to help her continue to learn some basic manners. Clare has lived with other dogs so could possibly be happy to have a furry K9 friend, will require slow and proper introductions to set her up for success. We are unsure how Clare would be with small animals or cats. She can be pretty bouncy and may knock over a small child so a home with older children / teens would be best. If you think Clare could be the perfect addition to your family, fill out an application online below!

This LARGE guy is George St.Pierre, and he's looking for an active home where his guardian(s) are just as fit as him. He's a happy go-lucky kinda guy that does get easily over excited at times. He will need lots of exercise and outings with guardian. He may want to chase moving things like bikes, animals or children. Good obedience and a confident guardian is important. George has previously lived peacefully with other female dogs but hasn't been around male dogs. We don't recommend to a home with very young children due to his size, exercise requirements and excitability. We don't know if George St.Pierre has ever been around other types of animals before (i.e cats, horses) so his future guardian(s) will need to be prepared to do proper, controlled introductions and have a plan in place if he's struggling and requires more time adjusting. A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to help ensure success in the new home.

Pearl is a sweet senior cat who is looking for her fur-ever home after coming in as an injured stray. She has had one of her eyes removed and is likely mostly blind in the remaining eye, yet she is surprisingly independent and brave once she gets familiar with her new environment. Pearl has a great little nose that finds her food, litter box, and catnip toys with ease. She uses her whiskers, instincts, and memory to make her way around a room, up and down off furniture and up and down the stairs. Her favorite toys are either catnip scented or crinkly/noisy. Because of her sight she must be a strictly indoor cat as it is much too dangerous for her to go outside. She'd be happy to just curl up in bed or on the couch with you inside where it's safe and familiar.Pearl enjoys company and likes to be close to her humans but will let you know when she's had enough petting and handling. She is loving and will make her way onto your lap for some snuggles. Her little squawky meows will express her happiness to know you are close by and that it is time for her dinner. Pearl also has a spicy side. She communicates clearly what she likes (food, human contact, being brushed) and dislikes (vets, her tummy being touched, being handled too much, surprises, being brushed too long). When she's had enough, her little squawk gets louder, and she will hiss to say she's done.Due to her visual impairment, she prefers her human companion to announce their presence and to make sounds when they are close by so that she is not startled by physical contact. She would do best in a quiet home that is predictable, where she can learn the floor plan and rely on it remaining similar. A home with children and other animals would likely not be ideal for her. She is not the best groomer, so she does require help with regular brushing to keep her coat in good shape. Being a senior it is important to keep up with regular vet check ups, dental care, etc to keep Pearl happy and healthy. Pearl will make a fantastic senior friend who is both loyal and independent. If this is what you are looking for then Pearl is your gurl!! An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Here are some ways to find out if Pearl is a match for you:1. Are you looking for an adventure kitty! Harvey was brought into the SPCA several months ago when he was found as a kitten on a rural road suffering from a horrible injury to his face, neck and paws. Despite the pain he was likely in, Harvey was a very outgoing, happy and cheerful little guy right from the start that was ready to play and snuggle. Harvey continues to have a lot of playful energy and loves to give you "hugs" (his paws both flat on your chest and his face by yours, though watch out as he can also be mischievous and nip noses). His favorite toys are wand toys that have something at the end of them that he can chase but he'll play with anything and everything. Sometimes he can get a bit rough and nippy when he's overexcited and probably isn't suitable for a home with young children. He would enjoy a home where he can have a lot of attention to play and burn off all his energy as well as getting much needed cuddles. He's a very outgoing guy and very adventurous with unlimited energy. He'd probably do great with a harness and leash with training and is definitely a cat who would be ready for all kinds of adventures (maybe going on hikes and what not with time). He must be indoor only unless out in a secure way like a catio or on leash. Harvey definitely needs a home who is prepared for his high energy, crazy personality. He can be very entertaining!Harvey hasn't lived with other animals before so we're not sure if he can get used to living with them or not. He gets quite growly and hissy when he sees other cats so may be best as the only 'child' in the home or he may do better with dogs with slow, proper introductions. Though Harvey has come a long way and recovered from his burns, it is likely that he will face some scarring and have a few spots on his face where the hair may never grow back. He is still wearing a cone to prevent him scratching the new skin which has yet to toughen up. We're not sure how long he will need to keep the cone on for but it could be quite awhile. Don't worry though, the cone definitely doesn't slow this energetic boy down. An adopter will need to be prepared to work with Harvey wearing the cone and when he eventually can have it off his adopters will need to be very vigilant about keeping his nails trimmed or have 'Soft Paws' to cover them. If you're ready please fill out an adoption application and submit it online today: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting first potential matching adopters to further review their application. Kiki is a sweet, senior cat looking for a loving retirement home to enjoy her golden years. She sadly came into the SPCA after her previous guardian passed away. Kiki is a friendly plus sized gal who mostly enjoys finding the best places to nap around the house. She has lived with another cat for most of her life and may possibly be able to live with a new feline friend with proper, slow introductions. We're not sure if she's ever been around dogs or children before. Kiki is used to a quiet, senior home and being indoors only. She seems to adjust quickly to her new environment and enjoys getting lots of attention. She is overweight and an adopter should be prepared to monitor her weight and try and help her trim down with a proper diet so that she be as healthy and happy as possible. It is important to do regular vet check ups with any animal but especially a senior. She should also be brushed regularly to help keep her groomed as older, overweight animals may have a hard time with grooming themselves fully. Kiki will happily hang out on the couch with her person watching some good TV. Will you be the one to open your heart and your home to this sweet senior lady?**KIKI IS NOT READY TO GO TO HER NEW HOME JUST YET AS SHE IS AWAITING A DENTAL SURGERY BUT WILL SOON BE. Shadow is a smokey and smouldering cat looking for that special someone to share his love with. Shadow came into the care of the SPCA after being found in a home with several other cats not receiving adequate care. He is a friendly and affectionate guy, though a bit shy and nervous at first in new environments. He prefers a quieter home without young kids running around as lots of loud noises and action can be a little scary for him. Once comfortable Shadow is a loving guy and will make a wonderful companion to share cuddles with. He would likely be fine living in a home with another friendly cat or two since that is what he is used to but slow, proper introductions would be very important with all new animals. We're not sure how he would do with a dog as he may get upset and hissy if scared. In the right home though, Shadow will love to explore and find all the best spots to stretch out and have lovely cat naps. He may enjoy having some safe spots to hide at first until he feels comfortable.Shadow is just recovering from a hernia repair surgery. *FOR EXPERIENCED CAT GUARDIANS ONLY* Celine is a diva, there's no denying it. You can't tell it from looking at this beauty but Celine didn't have the best start to life. She came into the care of the SPCA from a rural property with a lot of cats. She had been living in an outbuilding with almost no contact with people and having kittens continually. Celine was caught and brought into the SPCA to give her a chance at a better life however she's going to need a very special home, ideally one with experience working with semi-feral or under socialized cats. Celine is extremely nervous of people and being handled after spending the first part of her life without human contact. She has spent the last several months in a foster home getting braver and learning how nice it is to have a proper home. She has made progress and has gotten much more comfortable but still tends to be very skittish and feels safest being a few feet away watching the goings on of the people in her home. She accepts pets under certain circumstances and will eventually let out the purrs and relax a bit but will not seek out attention and generally retreats to her hiding places when approached. She needs to have a safe space to retreat to when scared and should be kept strictly indoors. Celine would be happiest in a quiet home without a lot of visitors and no young children as they would be much too scary for her. Though nervous and fairly aloof with people at the moment Celine is great with other cats and would do best in a home with other friendly felines to show her the ropes and help her feel comfortable. She would love to have a friend to play with as she is very playful and loves batting her toys around. She also enjoys perching on her scratching posts and watching through the windows (especially birds who she will chatter at). Celine may also be able to get used to a very calm, cat savvy dog as long as they give her plenty of space with slow, proper introductions (there will be lots of hissing at first). Celine is a diamond in the rough who just needs someone special who is determined to continue working with her socialization so she can really shine. She has so much potential and hopes to truly realize it in her fur-ever home. Could you be that special someone who will show Celine what it is to be loved? An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. If you think this animal is a match for you please fill out an adoption application and submit it online today: https://spca.bc.ca/survey/cat-adoption-application-kamloops/ ***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting first potential matching adopters to further review their application. Together, Riley and his sister Maggie are a whole lot of dog!Riley has a big personalty to go with his size. He has a lot of energy and requires a home that will be able to give him the exercise he desperately needs. Riley is very overweight and that will impact his overall health. While in our care he has slimmed down some but he still has a long way to go. Riley loves to eat so his diet will need to be monitored closely. He also has a tendency to run and jump without thinking and doesn't always know his own strength. These two labs are a handful but they have a lot of love to give the right person. They don't show aggression towards other dogs but often do not know how to behave politely which can upset other dogs. Both Riley and Maggie can be tough to walk at the same time. Atlas is an outgoing, friendly guy who loves his human friends but does not get along with other animals, particularly other cats. He can have a tendency to play a bit rough and will swat at people if he becomes frustrated or stressed but is generally very relaxed and friendly. In the shelter his frustration has largely been caused by seeing or hearing other cats nearby. Atlas' ideal home would have no other animals or young children. He would like a quiet, calm home as he has had some incidents of inappropriate urination outside the litter box due to stress from other animals. In the right environment this will hopefully no longer be an issue. *Atlas does have heart disease which does not currently require any special care or medication. An adopter will need to be prepared to monitor his condition throughout his life with their vet and for the possibility he may or may not require medication and further care in the future. I came in with a severe lung infection but with some good vet care, medication, and love I have recovered. I also had a dental surgery to remove some bad teeth. I'm feeling great now!Eddie came to the SPCA as a stray, so we don't know his history or his exact age. He is super friendly and always wants to get out of his kennel to explore the room and socialize with people. He is very vocal when he wants attention, and is highly food motivated - he lives for his wet food!Eddie loves to cuddle up and snuggle with his foster dad and keep him company. He can be very talkative when he needs something but makes sure his meow is soft and kind. He does well with a kitten in his foster home but doesn't seem to be much of a fan of other adult cats. We're not sure how he would do with dogs but with any new animals it would be important to have proper, slow introductions. He loves his foster mom but definitely favors the company of his foster dad. He is looking for a nice quiet and peaceful home that he can roam around in and take long naps in comfortable places (especially in the window so he can bird watch) as well as he prefers an uncovered litter box and for his wet food to be mixed with a little bit of water. Eddie is a super social cat and loves to meet new people and does well with quiet crowds. This social senior will make a great addition a home. Sable came from a hoarding environment with many other cats, and when she arrived, she was underweight, sick with an upper respiratory illness, and had parasites. She has since received vet care and is feeling a hundred times better! Sable was very shy and nervous at first and will likely need time to adjust in her new home. She can still be easily startled and may like to have a hiding place to feel safe in the beginning. Once she adjusts to her new environment she is very playful and loves rocketing around her kennel chasing her toys or wrestling with the other cat. She loves to be pet and is a purr machine once she gets to know you but can play hard to get until she learns to trust you. Given time and some love she will make a wonderful, fun little companion. Cats at the property they came from tested positive for upper respiratory illnesses such as calicivirus and mycoplasma bacteria, as well as roundworms and ear mites. She was treated for the roundworms, ear mites, and mycoplasma, but adopters should be aware that though she is now symptom free, there is a small possibility calicivirus can remain in a cat's system for life and may flare up in times of stress (causing sneezing, runny nose, etc) or she may stay symptom-free for the rest of her life. We recommend she be kept as an indoor only cat, and either be the only cat in her home or live with felines who have already been exposed to this virus or are fully vaccinated. We can go over Sable's medical history in more detail with potential adopters during our adoption counseling session. An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.Do you think you could be Sable's person? Wonderful Raymond is a rabbit who came to the SPCA from a home with too many rabbits to properly care for and living in a crowded environment. We don't know his full history or his exact age unfortunately, just that he's a charming rabbit. He arrived in our care covered in wounds from fighting and being attacked by the other intact male rabbits in the home. He has been treated for his injuries and is looking and feeling much better! Raymond is a confident and funny rabbit, who is fairly easy to handle, and would be a great addition to a home. He's curious and likes to explore his enclosure - especially to search for treats. He is learning to use his litter box and actually fairly clean, and with more practice we believe he will become a tidy rabbit. With his previous history of fighting and being attacked by other rabbits he may be best as the only male rabbit in the home. He has gotten along well with another female in our care who he likes to cuddle and groom. In fact if you're looking for two rabbits, Rachel and Raymond are quite the loving pair. With slow, proper introductions he could probably have a new bunny friend. Raymond has been neutered, and now he is ready to find a fur-ever home. Could it be with you?Rabbits require special housing, diet, and care. Adopters will need to show knowledge of this to help lovely Raymond have a happy and healthy life. Rachel is a lovely Lop earred rabbit who came from a home with too many rabbits in a crowded environment. We don't know her history or her exact age unfortunately, just that she's a sweet, young rabbit who has really come out of her shell and is getting friendlier and braver every day. Rachel is a gentle and shy lady who is growing in confidence as she gets used to being handled, and would be a great addition to a home with a rabbit savvy guardian who can help her get used to more handling. She's curious and likes to explore her enclosure - especially to search for treats! She is fairly good about using her litter box, and very tidy and clean overall except when she likes to dig through her box and throw stuff around. She would likely get along with another rabbit or two with proper, slow introductions as she is great friends with another rabbit in our care, Raymond. In fact if you're looking for two rabbits, Rachel and Raymond are quite the loving pair. Rachel is still a bit too young to be spayed but does have a appointment scheduled in February. She can go home with a local foster-to-adopt fur-ever home while we await her spay appointment. Could it be with you?Rabbits require special housing, diet, and care. Ellie is an outgoing, affectionate, sometimes feisty cat with a big personality, who reigns as queen over her domain. She came to the SPCA when her previous owner sadly passed away and the family could no longer keep her. Ellie did previously live with kids but apparently was not a fan so would prefer a home without young children. She also apparently tends to prefer women over men though may be open to bribery with her favourite treats, Temptations. She goes absolutely wild for her treats and will be all over you for them when you shake that bag! Initially she was very afraid when she came into the shelter, even acting aggressively because she was scared, but treats have helped her relax with the staff and show her friendlier side.Ellie was used to going outside a lot in her previous home but it may be possible for her to get used to being a strictly indoor cat as she has been perfectly happy being inside at the shelter, especially in this cold weather. Ellie may be initially nervous in a new environment and needs time to adjust and gain trust in her new people. She would be happiest in a calm, quiet home. Ellie did live with another cat at one time though apparently they didn't get along very well so we're not sure if she can happily cohabit with other pets or not. Testing and slow, proper introductions will be important with any new animals. Ellie is a pretty girl who will let you know when she's happy by showering you with affection, but she will also let you know when you're pushing her boundaries or she's not in the mood to be pet with a swat. She needs a cat savvy guardian who will take the time to build her trust, and understand that petting is on her terms. Once she trusts you she's an affectionate, chatty cat and even likes to curl up on laps. In the right home Ellie will make a wonderful pet and can learn to love again after her loss. Could you be the purr-fect match for this fine feline and give her her second chance? An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.
