Sonic, you sweet, speedy boy, it's time for you to go home! Sonic, and his brother Tails, came into our care looking to find their furr-ever families. Sonic is fun-loving, energetic and best of a sweet, cuddly kitten! He loves other cats and little kids!Don't forget, adopting a kitten is a big decision (and life long commitment to the cat!). Sonic may be small and cute now, but he will turn into a big, beautiful cat that he is destined to be! Before taking the plunge, it is a good idea to research costs, training and socializing techniques etc. and should include all members of the family. The time it takes in the beginning (slow introductions, waking you up at night, socializing) more than pays itself back when your uncontrolled mass of energy grows to be an invaluable member of the family. Sonic will need regular visits to the vet to keep his vaccines up to date, helping him to stay strong and healthy. If you think that adopting a kitten is right for you, please see one of the shelter staff for more information. An adoption counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Please visit our website https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/how-to-adopt/ for more information. All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application.***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their application. We are not able to call all applicants.***Current travel restrictions within the province of British Columbia mean that we are prioritizing local (within Interior Health Authority) adopters at this time. Thank you for continuing to help animals find loving new homes! This enables us to keep caring for new animals at risk, even with limited staffing.

Lovely Lawrence, or Larry, is looking for a family to call his own! Lawrence came into our care a little worse for wear; he had mats, covered in dirt, and underweight. After a snazzy new hair cut and wash, he is ready to go home! Larry is still a little smaller than what we would like to see, so we would like his family to be able to help him pack on a bit more weight without him gaining too much; he still needs to maintain a good figure. Lawrence is very forth coming and will tell you all of his stories, as long as you make sure to keep petting him. He may be good with other animals in the home, we would strongly suggest doing slow and proper introductions regardless to make sure everyone is friends. Larry is very much used to his life on the streets and hasn't forgotten his adventures, so his family would need to prepare for any escape antics he may have, or even consider let him outside in a safe manner (catios, harness training). We would greatly recommend that if he does want outside adventures and his family is comfortable with that to make sure they slowly introduce the outside world again so he knows where home is: YOU. Is Lawrence the lifelong friend you've been longing for?A behavioural counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Don't let their spicy names fool you! These girls are as sweet as sugar. These 3 beautiful and bonded girls are social and curious. Upon coming into care we realized there had been some over-grooming that had occurred. We believe that this is because of boredom from a lack of enrichment. Enrichment will be an important component of their future care. All 3 girls, while similar in appearance, are easy to tell apart and each has her own unique personality. While they are hand tame, some work still needs to be done, as 2 of the 3 are a little more nervous. These girls are looking for a rat savvy home that can provide them with the space and the enrichment to grow into the fun, curious adults that they are destine to be!Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Sweet and sassy senior, Ash, is looking for her purr-fect match! Could this grand dame be for you? Ash is a lovely, long-haired, senior tortoiseshell who is hoping to find a quiet retirement home without any kids or dogs as she was a bit tormented by a child in her previous home and may get easily scared in a loud environment. She has lived with other cats before but apparently was a bit bossy so would like be best as the only pet in the home. Ash loves getting pets, attention, and being brushed but does have her limits and will let you know if you're reaching them. Her ideal guardian(s) is gentle, patient, and loving and will get to see her sweet side because of it. They also won't mind if she occasionally unleashes her 'tortitude' when she is displeased about something...like going to the vet. Ash would love to spend lazy days curled up with you taking long naps or watching TV. She can't wait to find that special someone. Ash loves treats...maybe a bit too much as she could use a bit of a diet to help her find her girlish figure again. She'll need a guardian willing to commit to helping Ash on her weight loss journey so she can have a long, happy, healthy life. It will be important, as with any senior animal, to keep up with regular vet check-ups and have her on a good quality weight-loss diet to go along with a weight loss plan. Are you missing a little torti-tude in your life and want to give a senior animal a loving home? If so, send in an application for Ash today! Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed.
