Meet Will! Now he may be nine years old but you could never tell, this senior gentlemen still carries a lot of pep in his step! Will is looking for an active home that can take him on lots of adventures. Will LOVES fetch and would chase the ball all day if he could. Classic to his bread he can become anxious or overstimulated when left alone which may result in him barking/howling/or excessively panting. Will can sometimes become overwhelmed in confined spaces. He has lived with other dogs however can be timid when meeting dogs for the first time, we suggest slow introductions so he can make friends at his own pace. We are not sure how he would do with small kids, cats, or small animals. With the right amount of adventures to tire him out, toys/puzzle feeders to keep his mind busy, and lots of love and patience, Will will make an excellent addition to the family.

This sweet and shy boy is Bravo. He's a little under socialized and is fearful when meeting new people. He will do best in a quieter house where someone will be patient with him and show lots of love and affection. Because he is fearful of strangers and loud noises he needs a home with no young children. Bravo has done amazing at learning at wear a collar and walking on a leash. Once he's warmed up to people he loves quiet sitting time now but we can see him enjoying hikes and other adventures in the near future. Bravo does need slow introductions when meeting other dogs as he gets quickly intimated by them. He will require a home with no small animals (i.e cats, chickens etc.) Bravo has so much potential! and we know he will melt your heart like he has melted ours here.A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal to ensure success in the new home.

Meet bear, he is a Irish Wolf Hound Crossed with a German Shepard who is looking for his forever home. He was originally living in the Northwest Territories before making the journey to Kamloops. Bear is looking for an adopter who is knowledgeable on his breed and has a large fenced backyard as he can and has jumped a 5ft fence. If you are knowledgeable on Bear's breeds, you know that they are patient, loyal, and sweet-tempered. He loves to play fetch and frequently gets the zoomies! His breed has a history of a high prey drive so a home without small animals would be ideal. He has an allergy to chicken and requires a special diet. Given that he was from NWT, he is used to having lots of property to explore, so Bear is looking for adopters who have a large fenced yard and will take him on lots of adventures! Bear is a very intelligent boy: he knows how to sit, lay down, heel, and shake both paws. He loves to wind down in his wire crate and enjoys car rides. All he needs is a new best friend, could it be you?Due to Covid 19 we've made changes to our adoption process. To adopt please:1. Legolas is a shy little cutie from a large litter - 10 kittens, that were rescued from a hoarding situation. As a result, he is somewhat under-socialized and nervous and will need a gentle introduction and time to adjust to his new home. He would likely do best in a home with no small children, a fairly calm atmosphere, with a guardian(s) with lots of time to dedicate to helping him settle in and building up his confidence. With lots of love, enrichment, and playtime Legolas will certainly blossom. Loud noises and lots of activity make this little one nervous. He might do well with another cat, and maybe even a calm dog, to show him the ropes, as long as they can be introduced slowly and the other animal is not annoyed by a bouncy baby. If you have time, patience, and love to give to Legolas, he looks forward to meeting you! A kitten is a lifetime commitment and will reward an adopter with a life of love. An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, our adoption process has changed. Please visit our website spca.bc.ca/adoption/how-to-adopt/ for more information. All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application.***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their application. Smokey is a handsome senior fella who is looking for a place to call his forever home. Smokey has lost his hearing but a gentle touch to get his attention or awaken him from one of his many naps is all he needs. His hips are stiff so getting in/out of cars will require some assistance but he has no issues navigating up or down stairs. Smokey recently had some blood work done and everything was looking good! He has a history of reactivity with other dogs so he needs to be the only dog in the home. He can also be anxious when left alone and may bark. Don't let his age fool you though, this gentleman still has pep in his step! He loves going for walks and has great leash manners. What smokey really needs is a relaxing retirement home where he can nap all he wants, lounge in the sun, go on walks, and receive all the pets and kisses he deserves. Could smokey be the one for you? Meet Benny the beautiful bun bun!Benny can be a bit shy and nervous at first, like many small animals, but he is overall a curious guy who will hop up to you to investigate and see what you're doing. Once he gets to know you he is more relaxed and will enjoy some pets and ear scratches and, of course what rabbit doesn't like veggie treats! An adopter will need to be prepared to continue working with this shy guy at getting him more comfortable with petting and being picked up. He may not be a good match for very small children but older kids who are rabbit savvy may be alright.Benny was surrendered to the SPCA when he unfortunately wasn't getting along with the other rabbit in his previous home. He has since been neutered so it may be possible he could get along with another rabbit with less chance of aggression but we can't be sure. If introducing to another rabbit in the home he will need a proper, slow introduction to ensure success but he would also likely be happy as the only rabbit as well. Benny is doing well at using his litter box in the shelter and is a fairly clean guy. It is very important for rabbits to have plenty of space to run around for enrichment. Adopters will need to show that they can provide the proper care, housing, and diet required for Benny. This adorable little guy will certainly blossom to be a wonderful companion once he is settled in his fur-ever home and has built trust of with his guardian. Come meet this cutie, and see if he is the right fit for your home.An adoption counseling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal. Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed.
