This is not the first time Wagner has run afoul of the law.
He was arrested in a similar scenario in January of 2019 after RCMP arrested two men in a stolen truck in East Kelowna by using a spike belt. Like this time Wagner fled on foot but was caught and arrested.

Kelowna RCMP has a man in custody after he was spotted driving a stolen vehicle. The incident happened April 2, 2020, just after 2:30 p.m. when an officer spotted the stolen Mazda 3 while investigating another matter.
The vehicle was located parked a few blocks away. The driver attempted to flee in the vehicle but was unable to get the car to operate. He then fled on foot and was taken into custody a short distance away.
21-year-old Kelowna, Dennis Wagner, has been charged with possession of stolen property, failure to comply with a probation order, and resisting arrest.
