Buyer beware amid COVID

On Saturday I went to Walmart and bought a pair of jeans for an elderly lady in a retirement home; only to find out they were the wrong size. On Sunday I returned to Walmart so that I could exchange the jeans for the right size; imagine my surprise when the customer service rep told me that they were not accepting any clothing returns. Now when I bought theses jeans (and tops), the cashier never mentioned that clothes sales were final and there was no signage in the clothing section alerting customers to that fact; so now my 89-year senior is stuck with a pair of jeans that are the wrong size.

My question to the duty manager was ‘could I return this clothing item after the virus is over” and she said most likely not’.  So shoppers beware -  if you are buying any clothing items without trying them on in the store to ensure they fit thinking you can take them home to try them on and return them if they don’t fit – think again – Walmart is not accepting clothing returns and will in all likely not even the honour their 90 day return policy.

Before you buy make sure you ask what the stores return policy because you may end up being stuck with something that is the wrong size, colour and no recourse for returning it.
