Hike Kamloops offers list of few remaining local hikes

Some hiking trails still open

With BC Parks closing everything under their purview, including provincial parks, recreation areas and ecological reserves, hiking options for those looking to self-distance and be outdoors are limited.

That includes popular nearby spots like Wells Gray Provincial Park and the Lac du Bois Grasslands Protected Area.

To provide some guidance to potential hikers, local website Hike Kamloops has put together a list of trails that are still open, which is essentially a list of City of Kamloops parks with walking paths or trails.

The list includes more natural areas, like Kenna Cartwright Park and the Dallas-Barnhartvale Nature Park, along with manicured paths like Rivers Trail and McArthur Island.
