Cougar didn't have a chance

Re: Cougar kills alpaca

I have to agree with the conservation officer that the cat didn't have many other options for its survival.  Wildlife habitat is shrinking daily, and the animals who remain have to search harder for food while living in fear of hungry predators and well-fed human hunters with a gun.

Maybe the cat is better off dead. Who is there to miss its majesty?

What about the alpaca?  He or she was human property, destined to be fleeced or perhaps sold to the exotic
meat market.  Neither alpaca nor cougar will have an opportunity to have their say in a human court.
