This truck is possibly associated with an attempted theft at Silver Star near Vernon.

Security saved the day for one Silver Star mountain bike owner.

According to a post on the SilverStar Community page, shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, security encountered a suspicious vehicle an older - late 90s - dark green Ford F-150 extended cab, which had stolen plates on it.

Two men in hoodies and dark clothing were associated with the truck that quickly left the area.

Police were called but the suspects managed to elude Vernon RCMP.

“If you are missing a mountain bike, probably from The Ridge area, call Security to describe it as they recovered one last night that the suspects had ditched,” said the Facebook post.

According to comments, the truck had been seen in the area before.

“I've seen this truck in many different areas at many different times at SS. I thought they were locals, unfortunately. I'll be sure to look through my dash cam footage for a close up of these wonderful gentlemen and pass on to Vernon RCMP. Great job, folks,” said one person.

Anyone spotting the truck is asked to call 911 or security at 250-503-7716.
