Local resident captures police arresting man shouting on bridge

Police takedown on trestle

A local resident has captured the moments RCMP officers arrested a man on Kalamalka Road Sunday night.

Zach Taralson sent the video footage into Castanet, and says he was driving down Husband Road when he heard someone yelling loudly.

"I couldn't hear the content of what he was shouting about, but he was standing on the bridge for a decent amount of time. There were a lot of cop cars there already, just setting up a strategy while he was ranting about something from the middle of the bridge.

"The police rushed him from both sides of the bridge and took him down in the middle of the bridge."

The man was then handcuffed, says Taralson, and walked down the trail by police to a nearby residence closer to the beach where other police officers and an ambulance were present.

Castanet has reached out to Vernon RCMP for more information.
