The City of Enderby is reporting the Shuswap River levels are declining, however they remain unseasonably high as a result of unsettled weather along with the elevated levels in the South Thompson.

Luckily, the river flow rate is expected to decline over the next 10 days. 

As of July 6, the river flows were at 316 cubic metres per second, with levels at 4.134 metres. The peak flow rate occurred on June 5 at 459 cubic metres per second, with a levels at 4.920 metres.

Historically on this day in 2019, the Shuswap River was flowing at 131 cubic metres per second. On July, 6  2018, the river was flowing at 211 cubic metres per second. 

A High Streamflow Advisory for the Shuswap River will remain in effect as flooding continues at low-lying levels.

Recreational river users should exercise caution and be aware of the risks of being close to the river as it remains unseasonably fast, high and cold. Some activities are deemed unsafe. Click here for more information.
