RCMP and rescue crews respond to reports of a person in the water

Water rescue on Westside

UPDATE 4:10 p.m.

Reports from the scene of an incident on the Westside say both BC Ambulance and West Kelowna Fire Rescue crews have now left the scene.

Crews had been performing CPR on an individual who had been pulled out of the water in an area around Boucherie and Old Boucherie roads.

UPDATE 3:19 p.m.

Emergency crews including BC Ambulance services are scene after they received a report of an unresponsive person in the water near a mobile home park on Boucherie Rd. and Old Boucherie Rd.

Reports from the scene indicate they are working to save the individual but it's not clear if this is a drowning.

ORIGINAL 2:53 p.m.

Rescue crews had to jump into action Thursday afternoon after receiving a report of an unresponsive person floating in Okanagan Lake.

RCMP Marine Rescue was launched just after 2:30 p.m. to the waterfront near Boucherie and Gellatly roads.

Indications are that the person has been pulled from the water and is recovering.
