Cities are too noisy

I would like to offer a word of support for a recent letter contributed on Castanet. While I disagree with some sentiment posed in the letter, I want to offer my support for one problem the author explains, noise pollution.

The author‘a reference to high-flow mufflers and a culture of loudness here is spot on. I too believe that quietness is important for long-term health. Remember that these noise pollutions happen to come in forms that further pollute our water and air, a “double-whammy” of sorts. As our community grows, this is an issue we must examine thoughtfully.
