It appears the COVID-19 pandemic has done nothing to slow down rental costs in Kelowna and surrounding area.
November’s average rental price of a one-bedroom unit in Central Okanagan was the most expensive month on record.
The average cost was $1,284 per month, which was $8 more than the August mark. The data was mined from the Castanet classified section, which goes back to 2012 and is now being used because it features more listings than national rental companies that release monthly prices for Canada’s major cities.
The average price of a two-bedroom unit in Central Okanagan hit its second highest mark on record in November, according to Castanet’s data. The average price of rent for a two-bedroom flat in November was $1,843, which was $9 less than the average cost in September.
September, October and November marked the first time an average two-bedroom home cost more than $1,800 per month.
