Re: Ignorance vaccine please

Jonathan Kyogre wrote an interesting response letter regarding the Covid vaccine passport being planned by IATA.

The content of his letter was quite remarkable. Certainly he has the right to his opinion, and his suggestion that I was an imbecile, I should be refused medical treatment, I am intolerant and ignorant, an anti-masker and wear a tin-foil hat certainly speaks more about his character than mine.

To be fair, he did put a valiant effort into a retort, albeit vague, confusing, and puerile.

However, I am sure the debate on this will issue continue, and I think it's important that we all have a serious conversation about these topics.

I was putting some effort to offer a response to some of his comments until I stumbled across his social media account. It's quite clear that Mr. Kyogre seems has more concern about the upcoming "Zombie" Apocalypse and nobly represents his participation in the "Department of Zombie Defense".

In all seriousness, I did receive a substantial positive response to my past few letters, both in public and private. My hope is that people simply put the effort in to think carefully about the direction we are going.

I am certainly in favour of well-formed and reasonable public health measures that are based on fact, science, and critical thinking. However, there must also be consideration for damaging consequences these decisions can have which, over time, can cause more damage than the directives are mean to prevent. In addition, and probably above all else, we need to ensure our freedoms and liberties continue to be protected.

To quote a recent ruling by the US Supreme Court on New York's covid measures;

"There is no world in which the Constitution tolerates color-coded executive edicts that reopen liquor stores and bike shops, but shutter churches, synagogues and mosques." "Even in a pandemic, the constitution cannot be put away and forgotton"

I hope our courts are as brave interpreting our Charter.
