Edo Japan employees find envelope full of money, return it to rightful owner

Thousands of dollars found

Employees at Vernon's Edo Japan Restaurant served up a dish of kindness this week.

On Thursday, staff at the Fruit Union Plaza eatery found an envelope containing $3,500 in cash.

But, after some sleuthing by store manager Sheraz Powar, the owner of the money was found.

Powar said the unidentified man had just picked up the money from Money Mart, which is next door to the restaurant.

Powar managed to track down the rightful owner, who identified the amount and the denominations in the envelope, along with answering a few other questions to prove it was his money.

The employees, Jaskaran, Jaspreet and Saxon, could have just as easily pocketed the money – but instead they did the right thing and contacted Powar.

Powar said the owner of the money picked up the envelope full of cash on Friday.
