It's been a great couple of days at local ski resorts, with plenty of fresh snow falling across the Okanagan at higher elevations.
After 17 centimetres of snow fell Thursday night at Big White, skiers and boarders were treated to another 13 cm of fresh powder at the resort Saturday morning, bringing the hill's seven-day total to 51 cm.
Webcam footage Saturday morning shows clouds with some blue sky peeking through. The resort currently boasts a 260-cm base.
To the south, Apex Mountain Resort has had 20 cm fall in the past 48 hours, five of which dropped Friday night.
“Excellent conditions on the mountain. Lots of snow from the week,” the resort's website states. “Warming up today and the sun is going to be out for the majority of the day.”
And while the snow has been falling even further south, at Baldy Mountain Resort east of Oliver, the resort is closed Saturday. The resort did not say why it closed Saturday, but said it planned to reopen Sunday.
East of Vernon, SilverStar Mountain Resort saw just one cm of snow fall overnight, for a seven-day total of 22 cm
And north of Kamloops, Sun Peaks has seen drier conditions with just three cm of snow falling in the last 48 hours, while Revelstoke Mountain Resort has had eight in the same time period.
Interior Health announced Friday that no new cases of COVID-19 were connected to the cluster at Big White in the past week.
