The Duchess of Sussex has been left "saddened" by her former aide's claims that she bullied staff at Kensington Palace.

A piece in Britain's The Times newspaper named Meghan and husband Prince Harry's former communications secretary Jason Knauf, who is said to have filed an official complaint in October 2018, claiming that the duchess had driven two members of staff out of the household with her behavior, and undermined the confidence of a third. The report also alleged that Meghan's actions had left staff members in tears at times.

However, responding to the allegations, a spokesperson for the duchess - who is pregnant with her second child with Harry - said in a statement: "The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.

"She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good."

The report about Meghan's alleged behavior comes just days before the airing of her and Harry's highly-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they are expected to address their decision to step down as working members of the British royal family.
