Highway 97A motorcycle collision claims life of Salmon Arm woman

Rider killed in 97A crash

A collision that closed Highway 97A near Enderby Tuesday evening claimed the life of a motorcycle rider.

A Salmon Arm woman died in the crash with a large commercial farm vehicle.

North Okanagan RCMP were alerted about 6:20 p.m. to the collision, near the intersection of Springbend Road.

Police say the motorcycle was northbound on Highway 97A when it crossed the centre line and collided with the southbound farm vehicle.

“Sadly, the 58-year old female motorcyclist sustained significant injuries and was declared deceased at the scene,” says RCMP spokesperson Const. Chris Terleski.

Highway 97A was closed in both directions for about three hours following the crash.

The collision remains under investigation.
