A Kelowna woman elated after lost engagement ring returned

Engagement ring found

UPDATE: 10 p.m.

Shelby Hinter says her faith in humanity has been restored.

Hinter lost her engagement ring while picking up a few things at Glenrosa Convenience Store late last week.

But, she called Castanet Monday evening to say her ring had been returned.

A couple found the ring right where she says she lost it a few nights ago and, after seeing the story on Castanet returned it to her.

Hinter wanted to publicly thank the couple and anyone else who may have looked for her ring.

A Kelowna woman says she is devastated after her engagement ring went missing Thursday night in Glenrosa.

Shelby Hinter says she was picking up a few items at the Glenrosa Convenience Store and when she got home she noticed it was gone.

"I think I took it off my finger to put hand cream on and I must have put it on my lap and it was just gone. I was in touch with the managers at the store and they went through security footage with me, but there was no luck finding it."

Hinter says she was at the store around 9:30 p.m.

"I have done absolutely everything I possibly can I am just devastated. I have been engaged since 2016. It is something that can't be replaced. It holds so many memories between my spouse and me.

Hinter says she has retraced her steps multiple times.

"I have torn my house apart like 20 times. I have taken the seats out of the car. A lot of people know about it. I have posted about it. I just don't want it getting in the wrong hands. I'm hoping pawnshops will keep their eyes open too."

The ring is silver, with an oval-shaped diamond in the centre.

Anyone who has seen Hinter's ring is asked to email her.
