Hard saying there's no food

I volunteer with a program, that once a week, fills grocery orders for seniors or physically challenged individuals who can't get out to do their own shopping at the supermarkets.

Imagine having to call those individuals and say “sorry, there's no dairy products, sorry, there's no produce, sorry, there's no fresh fruit, sorry there's no meat and sorry, there's nothing in the frozen area either.”

When they ask what's going on with panic in their voices, how would you respond?

We can only temper our frustration and anger and tell them, hopefully next week what they need will be stocked.

This is the second time the basic needs listed on their meagre shopping orders couldn't be filled.

Shame on you hoarders. Have a heart.
