Shoparama taking place at Vernon recreation complex until 5 p.m. today

Shop 'til you drop

After being absent for almost two years due to COVID restrictions, Shoparama is back.

The popular event opened yesterday at the Vernon recreation complex and carries on today with 70 vendors.

“It's great to be back,” said organizer Ingrid Baron. “It's great to be out doing something, the vendors are so happy to be out doing something and it has been really well received.”

The event features everything from trendy clothing to jewellery to woodworking items and everything in between.

And to celebrate the return of the popular event, members of the Vernon Girls Alumni Trumpet Band stopped by.

“Shoparama actually started as a fundraiser for the Vernon Girls Trumpet Band and we just came up with the idea to have a bigger event,” said Baron.

The trumpet band disbanded in 2009, but band alumni got back together in 2020 and have been playing at various events ever since.

Shoparama takes place until 5 p.m.
