Falcons host firefighters and donate proceeds to BC Burn Fund

Firefighter night is back

After a two-year hiatus, the Kelowna Falcons are welcoming back firefighters night at the ballpark this Thursday.

All ticket sales will be donated to the BC Burn Fund, which is dedicated to promoting burn prevention and providing survivors and their families support throughout their recovery journey process.

Elks Stadium will be turned into a fantastic playground with firefighters, bouncy castles, fun games, fireworks, a chance to win a car, and of course the Falcons host the Nanaimo NightOwls for the first time ever.

The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Kelowna Rocket alumni and two-time Olympic gold medalist Shea Weber. The 16-year NHLer was just traded to the Vegas Golden Knights where he will continue his incredible professional career looking for his first Stanley Cup.

Meanwhile, the Falcons, are coming off a four-day break following Sunday’s rainout and will host the NightOwls, after taking two of three from them in Nanaimo last week. The Falcons are four games back of the first-place Bellingham Bells in the North Division of the West Coast League.

Thursday’s game will also feature fireworks, weather permitting.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with the first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. For ticket information click here.
