A vehicle fire in the woods off Beaver Lake Road spread to the surrounding brush Saturday morning.
A four-person BC Wildfire Service initial attack crew responded to the small fire just past the second cattle guard up Beaver Lake Road Saturday morning.
Fire information officer Shaelee Stearns says the fire was burning Rank 1, which is described as a “smouldering ground fire.”
The fire spread from the vehicle to the surrounding brush, growing to a size of 20 by 30 metres before forestry crews arrived.
Stearns says the firefighters remain on scene, extinguishing the fire.
It's not clear at this time how the vehicle caught fire.
A similar incident occurred a few weeks ago off a forestry road near Naramata, when three local men acted quickly to stop a vehicle fire's spread.
