IHIT investigating double homicide in wake of Coquitlam shootings

B.C.'s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been deployed in Coquitlam after a double fatal shooting Wednesday night.

RCMP say the double homicide happened at 7:45 p.m. in the area of Dawes Hill Road and Mundy Street.

Multiple 911 calls reported the shooting.

Responding officers located multiple shell casings and two unresponsive victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was rushed to hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.

A third victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and is in hospital.

IHIT is working in partnership with Coquitlam RCMP as it investigates the incident.

Police are seeking witnesses and any surveillance or dashcam video from the area at the time of the shootings.
