Deer in Kimberley gets tangled in Christmas lights

Christmas lights trap deer

Oh deer! Christmas might be over, but it appears not all the decorations have been put away.

That's the beginning of a tweet posted by the B.C. Conservation Officer Service after officers had to tranquilize a deer tangled in Christmas lights this week.

The mule deer buck found in Kimberley, B.C., was safely freed from the lights.

The Conservation Service reminds residents to be careful where lights, hammocks and netting are hung, to avoid similar incidents from occurring.

If you see an entangled deer, call the RAPP line toll-free at 1-877-952-7277.
