Dr. Bonnie Henry provides an update on B.C.'s COVID-19 situation

45 new virus cases, 5 deaths

Another 45 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the province, with two more cases confirmed in the Interior Health region.

These new cases bring the total in the province to 1,336, with 130 in the Interior Health area. 

During her daily press conference Wednesday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said another five people in the province have died from the virus, bringing the total deaths to 48. Two of the recent deaths come from North Vancouver's Amica Edgemont Village, the first COVID-19 fatalities at this care home. 

With 838 full recoveries, there are now 450 active cases in the province.

Interior Health hospitalizations have dropped to 10, after 13 were in hospital Tuesday. Province-wide, 135 COVID-19 patients remain in hospital.
