There were 70 new cases of COVID-19 overnight in the Interior Health region.
In an Dec. 24 email, the health authority says that brings the total number of positive tests to 3,510.
Right now, 675 cases are active and on isolation. Twenty-nine people are in hospital, with six of them in ICU.
The total number of deaths in Interior Health remains at 18.
Interior Health has also provided an update on its outbreaks:
- Teck mining operations has 16 IH cases linked to the outbreak.
- McKinney Place long-term care in Oliver has 75 cases.
- Village by the Station long-term care in Penticton has eight cases.
- Mountainview Village long-term care in Kelowna has at 15 cases.
- Heritage Retirement Residence in West Kelowna has 14 cases.
On Wednesday (Dec. 23), the province reported 518 new cases of the virus, and 19 new deaths.
Interior Health notes unless a new outbreak is declared, staff will not be reporting any further data until Tuesday, Dec. 29.
