RCMP in Trail came across an unusual sight in the middle of a highway on Sunday.
Police were called at about 8 a.m. for a complaint about a road obstruction on Highway 3B at the bottom of the Rossland Hill.
When the officer arrived, he discovered a Trail man pushing a shopping cart filled with "construction materials" up the steep incline in the middle of a highway lane.
The officer spoke to the man about the incident then gave him a ride to a location for his own safety.
"After helping the 38-year-man, the attending officer informed the man his cart would need winter tires if he intended to cross over the Paulson Summit," said Sgt. Wicentowich in a statement.
