Three female mule deer killed, left on roadside near Castlegar

BC Conservation officers are investigating after the discovery of three dead deer near Castlegar.

West Kootenay Conservation Officers said the three female mule deer were found in the Bulldog Mountain area near the Paulson Summit in Castlegar.

“The three mule deer were found dead in a clear-cut area approximately 21 km up the Bulldog Forest Service Road,” said a post on the Conservation Officer Service Facebook page.

“There was nothing removed from the deer. COs believe the deer were killed within the last two weeks.”

There is no open season allowing for the lawful harvest of mule deer does in the West Kootenay area of B.C.
