322 new cases, nine deaths

There were 322 positive COVID-19 tests across British Columbia in the past 24 hours, with 86 of these coming from the Interior.

The new cases bring B.C.’s total since the pandemic began to 216,334 cases, and 3,015 remain active. Active cases dropped by 32 since Tuesday.

Of these, 318 people are hospitalized with the disease, a decrease of 27, and 109 people are being treated in the ICU.

There are currently 606 active cases within Interior Health. Sixty-nine Interior residents are hospitalized with the virus, including 30 who are in critical care.

There were nine new COVID deaths reported throughout B.C. in the past 24 hours, including one in Interior Health, three in Vancouver Coastal Health and five in Northern Health. To date, 2,313 British Columbians have died after contracting COVID-19.

There has been no new healthcare facility outbreaks in B.C. and there remains 10 active outbreaks among care homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. A new outbreak was declared at Quesnel's St. Ann's Catholic School.

In the past 24 hours, 19,388 doses of the vaccine were administered in B.C. As of Wednesday, 91% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.4% have received their second dose.
