Brandi Cann had the Interior's first baby at 2:10 a.m. MST, or 1:10 a.m. PST.
The baby boy was 8 lbs 7 oz.

B.C.'s first baby of the new year was born at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, two minutes after midnight.
The B.C. government announced the province's New Year's baby Sunday morning.
The baby girl was born at 12:02 a.m. at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, weighing 5 lbs. 10 oz.
Last year, the province's first baby of the year came from Victoria.
