Freight train derails in Rogers Pass, east of Revelstoke

CP Rail personnel are on the scene of a derailment in Rogers Pass.

The company says it is conducting an investigation into the incident, which happened Sunday.

The freight train carrying cargo left the tracks near the Glacier Station section of Rogers Pass, about 60 kilometres east of Revelstoke.

Andy Cummings, a spokesperson with Canadian Pacific, confirms the train was not carrying any “dangerous” cargo and that no one was injured in the incident.

The cause of the incident is still under review.
