A Kelowna company makes a significant contribution to Okanagan Sun scholarship program

$25K for Sun scholarships

Several members of the Okanagan Sun will have a chance to continue on with their education once their junior football career is over thanks to the generosity of JDS Energy.

The Kelowna-based company contributed $25,000 to the team Wednesday morning as part of its ongoing support of the Sun scholarship program.

JDS Energy owners Jeff and Brenda Stibbard have supported the team, and its scholarship program for the past decade.

During that time, money contributed has allowed more than 100 players to pursue post secondary education.

The Sun will be back on the field Saturday when they travel to Nanaimo to face the VI Raiders.

Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
