Okanagan Sun dump Langley in BCFC semi final

Sun off to BCFC final

The Okanagan Sun slayed dragons of days gone by Saturday ousting the reigning national champion Langley Rams from the post season.

The Sun, eliminated by the Rams the last three post seasons, dumped the Rams 44-20 at the Apple Bowl.

After a slow start, the Sun got rolling in the second quarter when the duo of Dominic Britton and Colby Miletto heated up.

Britton hooked up with Miletto for touchdown passes of seven, 14 and 16 yards in the lopsided victory.

The Sun only led 2-1 after one quarter. They could have had more, but came up short on a third and goal at the Rams three yard line.

Britton and Milleto hooked up for a 48 yard strike early in the second quarter before connecting a play later for a seven yard strike.

After the Rams cut the deficit to one, Britton and Miletto connected again later in the half from 14 yards out.

The touchdown came after the Sun were awarded a first down after the Rams jumped offside on a third and four from deep inside the Rams end.

Kemaar Bishop closed out the half with a spectacular 55 yard punt return to put the Sun up 23-8.

Britton found Miletto again from 26 yards out in the third to put the game out of reach.

Milleto had just two touchdowns throughout the regular season.

Aiden Wiberg also found the end zone for the Sun.

The Sun will host the winner of Sunday's semi final between the Westshore Rebels and Valley Huskers in next weekend's Cullen Cup.
