West Kelowna deal for WHL defenceman

Warriors acquire veteran D

The West Kelowna Warriors have acquired the rights to Kelowna resident Aiden Reeves.

The defenceman, who will be entering his final year of junior eligibility, was acquired from the Prince George Spruce Kings for future considerations.

The Spruce Kings held Reeves' BCHL junior A rights despite the fact he played the better part of the last three seasons with the Western Hockey League's Prince George Cougars.

In 62 games with the Cougars, the 6'3", 190 pound Reeves had three assists and 13 penalty minutes.

“Aiden adds veteran experience to our group” said head coach and GM Simon Ferguson.

“He’s a tenacious player that can shut down the rush, skate and distribute the puck. He also has the ability to find offence in the attacking zone . We’re excited to add Aiden to our lineup."

Ferguson is familiar with Reeves after coaching him during his time with the Okanagan Rockets in 2018-2019.
