Dear Cop - Excessive Speeding

Dear Cop,
In the 3 months that I've been a resident here in Kelowna, the Benvoulin strip from Springfield to KLO has been a race course for those in
a great hurry to go somewhere. Traveling at 60 kmp, I have been passed by some doing in excess of 90 kph on this stretch of road. In my time here I have never seen a police presence on this road. What's up with that?
Tom

Dear Tom

I know this stretch of roadway quite well. Rest assured the Kelowna Traffic Services are well acquainted with the speeding vehicles on Benvoulin Rd. The Traffic Services in Kelowna work radar on Benvoulin Rd regularly. We find the highest speed occurs at night but we also work the stretch of road during the day, time permitted. Unfortunately there are so many problem areas for speeders, light runners, collisions, hit and runs, etc., it may not seem we work the area enough, but, rest assured, we do.
