It's snowing in Calgary

Anyone who thinks having a rainy May long weekend in the Okanagan is disappointing should be thankful they don't live in Calgary.

While Okanagan residents dug out umbrellas and long pants, Calgary residents had to dig out snow shovels.

The wet, heavy stuff began to fall early Sunday morning in southern Alberta, prompting snowplows to hit the highways.

And Mother Nature is not done with the Alberta city just yet.

Calgary could get five centimetres of the white stuff by Monday morning, when the snow is expected to turn to rain.

Areas north and west of Calgary, including Airdrie and Rocky Mountain House, are forecast to get as much as 15 centimetres.
