Amanda opens up on loss

Amanda Kloots is facing an ongoing struggle to come to terms with her husband Nick Cordero's death, with "new things hitting her on a daily basis."

The Broadway star passed away on July 5 after a gruelling battle with COVID-19, leaving behind Amanda and their one-year-old son Elvis. In the days following his death, Amanda has been keeping her social media followers updated with how she's doing, and told them on Wednesday that she's finding it difficult to process her new normal.

"Every day as I process this loss more and more I realize that new things that are hitting me on a daily basis," she wrote on Instagram, alongside a throwback picture of herself, Nick and Elvis.

"Today it was that I lost our family. I lost my husband. Elvis lost his father, but today I realized we lost our family. We didn't really even get to be a family."

After realizing that they will never be able to "have those memories that I dreamed of since Elvis was born", Amanda added: "This hit me hard. It stung like a horrible bug bite actually. The pain of everything has recently begun to stop me in my tracks. I'll be doing something and I freeze, unable to think or move. My gut aches, it actually aches deeper than I ever knew it could."

While some people have criticized Amanda for taking such a public approach to dealing with her grief, the fitness expert continued to explain that doing so has been helpful for her.

"If anyone else can relate, know that I'm here with you," she wrote. "If anyone else feels this pain, you are not alone. Grieving is a journey we all do differently. Talking about it when I have the strength is helping me. I don't always have the strength, sometimes I can't talk at all.

"There are no answers. There is no right or wrong. I can only allow myself the time and the process and be honest with that."
