Britney Spears is "not even close" to wrapping up her conservatorship battle and promises more attacks on those controlling her life.
The pop star's explosive testimony at a court hearing last month turned fans on her family, in particular her father Jamie Spears, who has been her chief conservator since 2008. The remarks also prompted the singer's court-appointed attorney to step down and now she has secured the services of top Hollywood attorney Mathew Rosengart, who has vowed to move "aggressively" to win his client her freedom.
Now, in a new Instagram post, Britney insists there are more fireworks to come, stating she will "never be able to let go" until she has "said all I needed to say."
"So I said 'life goes on' in one of my recent posts but it's always easier said than done!!!!!" she writes. "In that moment that's what felt was the easiest to say but I think we all know that I will never be able to let go and fully move on until I've said all I needed to say... and I'm not even close!!!!
"I was told to stay quiet about things for so long and I finally feel like I'm just getting here."
In his first statement to the media after becoming Britney's new lawyer last week, Rosengart told reporters outside the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, "My firm and I are moving aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to remove Jamie Spears unless he resigns first."
In a court appearance last week, the Toxic hitmaker broke down in tears as she said she is "extremely scared" of her father, adding, "I'm here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse. This conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life."
Last month, she said her conservatorship had left her "traumatized" and "depressed", and she called for her father to be jailed.
She said, "They have me going to therapy three times a week and to a psychiatrist... I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don't feel like I can live a full life... I need your help. My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship, including my management... they should be in jail."
