Kamloops Blazers sign pair of imports

A pair of European prospects will be headed to the Kamloops Blazers fall training camp in August.

Czech forward Martin Lang and Finnish defenseman Joonas Sillanpää have signed with the team, according to a press release. Both were born in 2001 and drafted by the Blazers as part of the 2018 CHL Import Draft.

Lang played last season with HC Plzen U18 team and ranked as their top scorer with 37 goals and 22 assists in 35 games. Before joining up with the Blazers he'll be part of the Czechia Under-18 team competing in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in early August.

He's been part of national teams before, joining the U16 and U17 teams the past couple of years, including a bronze medal run at the 2017 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.

He's 5’10” and 165 lbs.

Sillanpää joins from Helsinki-based HIFK, where he played on both the U18 and U20 teams.

He's 6’5” and 181 lbs.
