Kamloops Long Blades perform well on Western Circuit

The first stop of the EVO Western Elite Circuit was in Calgary over the weekend and two members of the Kamloops Long Blades took part in the event.

Martina Antifay and Cameron Thomas were among the field of over 100 international speed skaters and both managed to start the season off well on Sept. 29 and 30.

Anitfay finished 25th overall in the 500 m and 31st overall in 1000 m and 1500 m. With those results, she qualified for the B.C. selection trials for short track speed skating for the upcoming 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Thomas had six personal best times, two each in the 500 m, 1000 m and 1500 m events.
