PHOTOS: Kamloops Remembrance Day ceremony a somber occasion

It was a chilly grey morning at Riverside Park, fitting for the Remembrance Day ceremony that took place.

At least 1,000 people gathered to remember and honour the 100th anniversary of the armistice signing, which ended the First World War. Military veterans, current members of the armed forces, cadets, police, firefighters and politicians along with hundreds of members of the general public filled the area between the cenotaph and the Rotary Bandshell.

The ceremony was a relatively quiet affair for such a large number of people, apart from the fly pass by members of the 419 Squadron.

The Kamloops Rube Band and the Kamloops Pipe Band provided music for the occasion.
