Ashcroft emergency department to close for eight hours on Jan. 28

Interior Health is advising Ashcroft residents that the local emergency department will be closed for eight hours on Monday morning (Jan. 28).

The Ashcroft Hospital and Community Health Care Centre will close from midnight to 8 a.m. due to staff availability, according to a press release.

The health service reminds residents that if they require care while the emergency department is closed, to use one of the following services: 

• In the event of an emergency, call 911
• Visit the emergency department at one of the following facilities: Royal Inland Hospital, Lillooet Hospital or Nicola Valley Hospital
• Call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 (24-hour service) if you are unsure of your need to seek emergency care

The emergency department will return to its regular hours the following weekend (Feb. 1).
