If you're in a jam in Ashcroft tonight (May 3), you'll have to go elsewhere for emergency medical assistance.
As a result of an "unexpected and temporary limited staffing availability," Interior Health will be closing the Ashcroft Hospital and Community Health Care Centre from 10 p.m. tonight until 8 a.m. tomorrow (May 4). After that, the site will re-open for regular services.
Ashcroft's emergency department services normally operate on weekends only, from Friday at 6 p.m. to Monday at 8 a.m.
If you require care in the Ashcroft area during tonight's closure, Interior Health advises the following:
- In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1.
- Visit the emergency department at one of the following facilities:
- Royal Inland Hospital – 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops
- Lillooet Hospital – 951 Murray Street, Lillooet
- Nicola Valley Hospital - 3451 Voght Street, Merritt
- Call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 (24-hour service) if you are unsure of your need to seek emergency care.
