Kamloops Venom top Tigers in TOJLL action

The Kamloops Venom declawed the Vernon Tigers this week, beating the team 10-8 on the road last night (May 15) to increase their first-place lead in the Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League (TOJLL).

Kamloops beat Vernon by the same score on Sunday night (May 12) at the Memorial Arena.

Leading the charge for the Venom last night was Mykl Drabiuk and Mason Suppanz, who had two goals apiece. Trey Dergousoff, Zack Hebden, Dominick Young, Tanner Koroluk, Brandon Jacobson and Kaden Dempsey also scored for Kamloops.

Callum Gorman was a facilitator all night, racking up six assists.

Reed Watson made 35 saves in net for the win.

The win sends Kamloops to 5-1 on the season, with a sizable lead in the three-team TOJLL. Both South Okanagan and Vernon only have one win, albeit with fewer games played.

The Venom's next game is a rescheduled contest from the past weekend, which will go May 23 at Kamloops Memorial Arena at 7:30 p.m.
