Quesnel man killed in explosion, death 'not suspicious'

Quesnel RCMP are investigating after a 56-year-old man died in his shop yesterday (June 12), apparently in an explosion.

Police received a call around 4:45 p.m. about an explosion at a residence on Timothy Road.

"Upon arrival, police located a 56-year-old man deceased in his shop from an apparent explosion," says a release from Sgt. Chris Riddle.

The explosion and subsequent death are being investigated by the RCMP, Quesnel Fire Department and B.C. Coroner Service, although initially, it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

The investigation is ongoing.
