Kamloops Blazers 2019-20 schedule sees increase in weekend affairs

It's officially time to start badgering your friend with season tickets about what games you want to attend, as the 2019-20 Kamloops Blazers schedule was released this morning.

The Blazers open the regular season at home on Sept. 20, hosting the Spokane Chiefs. The following weekend (Sept. 27), the Blazers host the first of 10 meetings with the rival Kelowna Rockets.

In total, the Blazers will play 25 of their 34 home games on Friday and Saturday nights this year. Last season Kamloops had 21 home weekend games.

The Blazers will once again go on a lengthy road trip out east before the Christmas break, so the team will only have two home games in the month of December.

Other notable matchups include:

  • Nov. 9: the Medicine Hat Tigers come to town for new head coach Shaun Clouston's first game against his former club
  • Nov. 30: the annual Teddy Bear game comes against the Portland Winterhawks
  • Dec. 28: the Victoria Royals make their first trip to Kamloops after knocking the Blazers out of the playoffs last year
  • March 20-21: the Blazers close out the season with a pair of home games against the Prince George Cougars

Kamloops will also host two afternoon games this year, on Remembrance Day (Nov. 11) against Kelowna and on Family Day (Feb. 17) vs. Victoria.
