Kamloops RCMP had 60 reported thefts from vehicles last week, here's where

RCMP are once again releasing the locations in Kamloops where thefts from vehicles happened over the past seven days.

This is the second week local Mounties have released the maps and numbers in an effort to increase public awareness.

"These maps are not just a reminder to motorists to lock their vehicles, but also to all citizens, to remind them that if they see suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood, to call the police," Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in last week's release.

This week, 60 thefts were reported, with hot spots in the city's West End neighbourhood and on the North Shore between Courtney Crescent and Seventh Street near the North Thompson River.

One map shows the Brocklehurst and North Shore neighbourhoods, while the other shows downtown, Sahali and Aberdeen (along with sections of adjacent areas).

Outside of those areas, the police recorded seven more thefts from vehicles: three in Westsyde, two in Valleyview, one in Batchelor Heights, and one in Noble Creek (it's the area north of Westsyde).

Last week, 58 thefts from vehicles were reported to the police.
