More paving means more traffic delays along West Victoria

Ready for a scare right before Halloween?

There will be more traffic delays caused by the paving of Victoria Street West on Oct. 30.

The City of Kamloops is warning drivers ahead of time to "expect significant delays" that day as Extreme Excavating crews begin paving lanes from Stereo Warehouse to just west of Sun Life Financial.

Work will start at 7 a.m. on Wednesday and go into the early evening. Motorists are urged to consider alternate routes while work is underway.

"The Victoria Street West Improvements Project is on schedule to have all lanes of traffic paved and open and pedestrian access restored throughout the corridor by the end of 2019, as long as weather conditions remain favourable," says a news release from the city.

Paving for the rest of the street near Craftsman Collision and Signature Printing is tentatively scheduled for the week of Nov. 12.
