1:13 a.m.

Police say a 54-year-old female pedestrian was fatally hit by a truck around 5:29 p.m on Friday (Nov. 15).

She was pronounced deceased on scene, says Sgt. Jeff Bingley in the RCMP's latest update.

The driver of the truck remained on scene and was brought to the detachment to further the investigation.

The fatal accident closed roads in the area for six hours to allow Mounties to investigate.

It is the second fatal collision in Kamloops this month

12:30 a.m.

The roadway is now open and clear.

8:15 p.m.

Local Mounties are currently on scene of a serious motor vehicle incident at University Drive and McGill Road.

"The road is currently partially blocked for westbound traffic on McGill Road from Summit Drive to Dalhousie Drive," writes Sgt. Jeff Bingley in an email.

The road will be closed until midnight, he adds.

Police will provide another update when traffic is moving again.
