Counter Attack nets 10 impaired drivers in Kamloops

Kamloops Mounties caught a number of impaired drivers behind the wheel this past weekend.

During four Counter Attack check stops, police issued:

  • 6 90-day immediate roadside suspensions
  • 3 3-day roadside suspensions
  • 1 provincial roadside suspension for drugs

"The consequences of impaired driving are massive," says Cpl. Jodi Shelkie in a news release. "You're risking your life and the lives of others. You can be charged criminally and the ripple effect on you, your family and friends can be huge."

RCMP are reminding locals to plan for a safe ride home, either using a taxi, transit or Operation Red Nose. The number for Operation Red Nose is 250-372-5110. They operate between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and 8 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Thursdays.
