More locations may be added in the coming weeks, if deemed necessary, notes a press release. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels and follow social distancing guidelines while filling the sandbags.

The City of Kamloops is reminding residents to be proactive ahead of the spring freshet and take measures to protect their properties. The Tournament Capital's freshet season is expected to be one of the most concerning in B.C., according to city officials.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is also providing sand and sandbags.
